What are nano hairstroke brows?

Nano hairstroke brows are fine, crisp, hair-like strokes drawn with a nano needle that follow the natural direction of your brow hair. They give the most natural permanent brow look, and they are Lora's signature work.

Each stroke imitates a real brow hair, so the result blends with the hair you already have. It works best when you still have some of your own brow hair for the strokes to blend with.

Who are nano brows best for?

Nano brows suit normal to dry skin, and anyone who wants a natural look.

Powder brows work on all skin types, including oily skin. If you want a little more fullness than hairstrokes alone give, hybrid brows add soft powder shading between the strokes. If you are not sure which one fits you, we will talk it through at your consultation.

Do you do microblading?

No, Great Nails does not offer microblading. Lora does nano hairstroke instead, drawing fine hair-like strokes with a nano needle.

She chose it for three reasons: it is a newer technique, in her experience it is gentler on the skin, and the color holds longer. Lora holds an advanced Nano Hairstroke certification from a training center in Vietnam.

Do you do nano brows for men?

Yes. Nano hairstroke brows are $350 for men and women alike.

For men, the consultation focuses on a fuller, straighter brow with minimal arch. Lora uses bold, hair-like strokes to fill in sparse areas while keeping the look natural and low-maintenance.

How much do nano hairstroke brows cost?

Nano hairstroke brows are $350 for women and men, and the first touch-up is $50.

The $50 touch-up applies when you come back at least 4 weeks and no more than 8 weeks after your first visit. Outside that window, the price depends on how your brows look.

There is no deposit and no cancellation fee. If your plans change, please call us at (763) 433-8613 so we can offer your time to someone else.

What happens at my nano brow appointment?

You start with a consultation about shape, skin type and color, then we apply numbing cream for about 15 to 20 minutes. Nothing begins until you approve the shape we have drawn.

  1. Consultation: we look at your brow shape, hair growth pattern and skin type, and agree on a shape and color tone.
  2. Numbing: we cleanse the brow area and apply numbing cream for about 15 to 20 minutes.
  3. Mapping: we outline the brow shape, and you approve it before we start.
  4. Pigment: we draw fine hairstrokes that follow the natural direction of your brow hair.
  5. Soothing balm: we clean the area and apply a balm.
  6. Aftercare: we go through the instructions out loud and schedule your touch-up.

Plan on about 2½ hours for nano hairstroke brows. Lora uses sterile, single-use needles for every client. Before we start, you also fill out a short health and consent form.

What does nano brow healing look like?

Brows look darker and more defined for the first few days, then flake lightly around day 3 to 5. Between about day 8 and day 28 the color can look faded, patchy or uneven, which is a normal stage and not the final result.

  • Keep the brow area dry for the first 24 to 48 hours, with no water or makeup on it. After that, cleanse gently twice a day with plain water or a mild, fragrance-free cleanser, pat dry, and use a rice-grain amount of the aftercare ointment.
  • Do not pick, scratch or rub flaking skin. Let it shed on its own.
  • For the first 7 days, skip exercise and heavy sweating, saunas, steam rooms, hot tubs and swimming, alcohol and smoking, direct sun, and exfoliants, retinol or peels near the brows.

As soon as you finish your health and consent form, we email you the written aftercare instructions, and we go through them out loud before you leave.

How long do nano brows last?

Permanent brows last about 2 to 3 years, and sometimes longer depending on your skin type. They fade gradually, and a touch-up refreshes them.

Your first touch-up is $50 when you come back at least 4 weeks and no more than 8 weeks after your first visit. The first session is not the final result, so we judge the final look after that touch-up.

What are the downsides of nano brows?

The main trade-offs are the healing stage and the upkeep. Your brows look darker at first, flake and look patchy for a few weeks, and fade over time, so you need a touch-up.

Future skin treatments near the brows, such as laser hair removal, chemical peels or plastic surgery, can change how permanent makeup looks, and some of those changes cannot be corrected. We cover this and your health history on the form you fill out before your visit.

How are nano brows different from powder and hybrid brows?

Nano brows are fine hair-like strokes, powder brows are soft shading, and hybrid brows combine both.

Powder (ombre) brows are $250, with a soft, makeup-like finish that works on all skin types. Hybrid (combo) brows are $350 and add powder shading to nano hairstrokes for a fuller brow. See all three side by side on the permanent brows page.
