Lip Blush in Coon Rapids
Great Nails offers lip blush in Coon Rapids for $350 and lip liner blush for $200, done by Lora, a licensed permanent makeup artist. Lip blush places pigment in your lips for a soft, healthy-looking tint, and the first touch-up is $50 when you book it in the right window. We take appointments seven days a week at 3450 124th Ave NW, Suite 102.
What is lip blush?
Lip blush places pigment in your lips to enhance your natural color, define the lip border and give a soft, healthy-looking tint. It also helps even out uneven or naturally dark lips.
Lip liner blush ($200) adds soft color along the lip line. Both are cosmetic tattooing, and the color fades slowly over the years instead of washing off.

How much does lip blush cost?
Lip blush is $350 and lip liner blush is $200. The first touch-up is $50 when you come back at least 8 weeks and no more than 16 weeks after your first visit.
Outside that window, the price depends on how your lips look. Plan on about 2½ hours for your visit.
There is no deposit and no cancellation fee. If your plans change, please call us at (763) 433-8613 so we can offer your time to someone else.
What happens at my lip blush appointment?
You start with a consultation about your natural lip tone, shape and color, then we apply numbing cream for about 15 to 20 minutes. Nothing begins until you approve the lip shape we have drawn.
- Consultation: we look at your natural lip tone and agree on the shape and color you want.
- Numbing: we cleanse the lips and apply numbing cream for about 15 to 20 minutes.
- Mapping: we outline the lip shape, and you approve it before we start.
- Pigment: we work color into the lip border and the body of the lips for even saturation.
- Soothing balm: we clean the area and apply a healing balm.
- Aftercare: we go through the instructions out loud and schedule your touch-up.
Lora uses sterile, single-use needles for every client. Before we start, you also fill out a short health and consent form.
What should I tell you before getting lip blush?
If you have ever had a cold sore, you need a prescription antiviral before any lip procedure to help prevent an outbreak. Also tell us if you are pregnant or nursing, or take blood-thinning medication.
Our health form asks about these so Lora can decide with you whether and when to go ahead. You must be 18 or older.
What does lip blush healing look like, day by day?
Lips look bold and saturated right after the visit, with moderate swelling for the first 1 to 2 days. The color then fades noticeably, by as much as half, within the first 5 days.
| When | What you will see | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Day 1 to 2 | Bold, saturated color and moderate swelling. | Gently clean the lips with sterile or distilled water several times on day 1, and apply a thin layer of balm before bed. |
| Day 2 to 7 | The color fades noticeably, by as much as half within the first 5 days. The lips start to flake and peel from the inside center outward, and the color underneath can look spotty. | Cleanse twice a day with lukewarm water and a mild, unscented cleanser, pat dry, and apply a thin layer of balm. Do not pick or peel. |
| Day 7 to 10 | Peeling finishes and the lips settle. | Keep avoiding spicy or very hot food, kissing, licking the lips, other lip products, the sun and heavy sweating. |
| Week 4 to 6 | The color settles into its true healed shade. | Judge your result now, not earlier. |
| Week 8 to 16 | Your touch-up window opens. | Book your $50 touch-up for between 8 and 16 weeks after your first visit. |
None of this means the color did not take. The bold color and the patchy stage are both a normal part of healing.
Lora has seen what happens when the healing stage is rushed. One client went home after her lip blush and let food stick to her lips before they had healed. The lips became red and sore. The redness went away in a few days, but a reaction like this can leave the color uneven, darker in some spots and lighter in others. That is why Lora is strict about three things: keep food from touching your healing lips, stay out of saunas and steam rooms, and do not peel the scabs or put anything on your lips yourself while they heal.

What can I not eat or drink while my lips heal?
Avoid sticky rice, seafood, spicy food and alcohol while your lips are healing. Use a straw instead of drinking straight from a cup or bottle for the first 7 to 10 days.
Keep water off your lips for the first 24 hours, and avoid lip makeup, lip liner and lip gloss other than the balm we give you. Let any flaking skin shed on its own, and skip saunas, pools, direct sun and heavy sweating while you heal. As soon as you finish your health and consent form, we email you the written aftercare instructions.
How long does lip blush last?
Lip blush lasts about 2 to 3 years, and sometimes longer depending on your skin type. It then fades gradually, and a touch-up refreshes it.
The first session is not the final result, so we judge the final color after your touch-up. Once your lips are healed, use an SPF lip balm, and avoid exfoliants, retinol, and glycolic or lactic acid products on or near the lips.
